This was the very first track that was written by TNTP. In march 2003 all that was needed was a four track recording software,a borrowed Yamaha CS1x and heavy inspiration from a dark ambient project called "Voice Transmissions With The Dead" (hence the name). The track was uploaded to the NULLL forums to see whether people actually like it. They did and therefore work on the album started.
